Rwanda is known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills” and is famous for its breathtaking nature, green hills, lakes, and unique biodiversity. The country offers the opportunity to see rare mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park, explore tropical rainforest in Nyungwe Forest, and go on wildlife safaris in Akagera National Park, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, and hippos. Our partner organizations are mainly located in the region of the capital Kigali and surrounding communities, allowing you to experience both rural and urban Rwanda.
Besides its nature, Rwanda is rich in culture, with the Kinyarwanda culture, traditional dances such as the Intore, and hospitable communities. The country is safe, clean, and progressive, making it an ideal destination for internships, minors, or volunteer work.
