Other data processed by Lets Go Africa
Passport
In some cases this is necessary to assist with arranging a visa.
Religion
We will never judge regarding religion, but in some cases it is important for both the person leaving to Africa and the partner organization to be aware of this. Because it may be that the beliefs of someone do not fit with the strict norms and values that some partner organizations apply, so that it is better for everyone to be informed about this beforehand instead of having uncomfortable situations locally. LGA would advise openly and honestly on this during the project matching process.
Medical data & Diet:
Necessary for the partner organization, contact person and possibly host family to be aware of this in order to prevent a certain health situation occurring or to be informed when something actually happens and to respond appropriately.
Police Clearance Certificate
Since you will be working with vulnerable target groups at our partner organizations in Africa, it is important that we are aware that someone does not have a criminal record or has done something in the past, which could be a reason to refuse someone.
You have decision-making authority with regard to the data that we collect. When you are asked to provide personal information, you can refuse this. But if you choose not to provide data necessary for our services, you may not be able to use it.
In addition, we collect the content of messages you have sent to us, such as feedback and/or questions and information that you have provided for customer support.
Purposes of data processing
We do not process your personal data without underlying reasons of course, but need them for:
• accepting and executing your agreement with us, so that we know which services you want to use
• making contact, for example to help you with a problem you encounter
• securing our services and combating fraud, so that no one else is posing like you for example
• dealing with responses to our vacancies and linking it to our partner project, so that we know better whether you are the right match.
After obtaining your permission, we also use your personal data for:
• improving and evaluating our website and services, so for example that we know which new functionalities you would like to see in our services
• aligning our content with your interests
• promoting your work
