We will go through your information and select the most suitable projects for you. We will send you an email back with more detailed information about the projects, tasks and circumstances.

3. Registration

When you are enthusiastic about a project, we will send you our registration form. You need to return the form via email and transfer the registration fee (this will be deducted from the program costs).

4. Intro meeting
4. Intro meeting

We will invite you for an introduction meeting face to face or via Skype (when you live abroad). Together we will screen and discuss which project description will match with your preferences and how you can contribute to our partner organisation in Africa.

5. Down payment for start matching procedure
5. Down payment for start matching procedure

In order to start the matching procedure with our local partner organizations, we require a down payment. The amount of the down payment depends on the country (mostly €200), but are NO extra costs and will therefore be deducted from the total program costs. We will send the partner your info, preference and CV to get a project match a.s.a.p. We will check availability and create an individual job description with specific tasks based on the partner’s needs. If there is no match with your first preference, we will search for an alternative project to offer you!

6. Completing documents

We will send you our internship/ volunteer agreement and a checklist what needs to be arranged step by step. You are responsible for the necessary arrangements, but we will be there to support and advice.

  • When we have received a final GO from the project partner, we are good continue

7. Paying program costs

We will send you the invoice with the remaining program costs, which needs to be transferred latest 1 month before your departure.

8. Preparation & workshop

When there is enough interest we organize a Follow your African Sun Workshop (optional) regarding expectations and cultural differences. We assist you with preparations such as visa & ticket and forward your documents to the partner.

9. Final preparation meeting

A few weeks before departure we send you a final checklist with last arrangements and items to take along on your trip. We will discuss final preparations and a specific safety preparation during a last personal or Skype meeting before departure.

How do I register?

  • Every country has its own registration form, but if you haven’t decided yet you can also use the general LGA registration form on the website, in the brochure attachment or we can simply email it to you.
  • You can fill out the registration form and email it back to us or send it by mail.
  • LGA registration costs will be deducted from the program costs, so they are not extra costs.
  • The registration is completed when we received the form and the €75 registration fee (LGA bank details are on the registration form)
  • You will receive a LGA invoice of your registration and later on an invoice of the total program costs.
