This project focuses on hospitality services in the broadest and most holistic sense within rural Tanzania. It encompasses guesthouses, community lodges, eco-tourism facilities, cultural tourism initiatives, and hospitality services linked to education, healthcare, and community development. There are also options in small rural hotels and lodges in strengthening professional management systems, operational efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability.
Hospitality in this context goes far beyond accommodation alone. It includes guest reception, customer service, food and beverage services, housekeeping, facility management, tourism support, cultural exchange, and community engagement
Goal: To improve hospitality standards and guest experiences through skills transfer and sustainable operational practices that local staff can continue independently.
The Hotel projects focuses on improving the overall management capacity of locally owned hospitality enterprises, including planning, administration, financial control, marketing, human resource management, and quality assurance. Many rural lodges and guesthouses operate with limited formal management structures. Interns and volunteers contribute by introducing practical, scalable management tools and systems that are adapted to local realities, resources, and skill levels.
