My experience with Let’s Go Africa was very positive. Through them, I was able to do an internship in Zanzibar that eventually even led to a job, something I never expected beforehand.

The organization helps find an internship that aligns well with your studies and interests. The matching was done really well for me, and the communication during the preparation was clear and quick. I felt well prepared before I left and could always turn to them with questions.

What I also appreciated is that they are flexible with start dates and offer different levels of internships. This makes it possible for many students to find a suitable experience.

My internship itself was a great experience: I worked on strategy development for a partner business model with local sustainable micro-enterprises. In addition, I learned a lot about other cultures, management, and collaborating in an international environment.

The only downside I found was that the fee for the program is quite high, which makes it not a given for me to go through an organization again. But for finding my internship and the guidance during the process, it was certainly worth it for me. I would definitely recommend Let’s Go Africa to students looking for an internship or volunteer project in Africa and who are open to a unique learning experience.

Through Let Go Africa, I ended up in Cape Town, South Africa. I did 4 months of volunteer work at a local organization. I handled their social media and marketing. The volunteering took some getting used to at first, but I was warmly welcomed there every day. The gratitude and openness of the staff and children made the work incredibly valuable. South Africa is a beautiful country with incredibly friendly and open people.

I stayed in Cape Town, and there is so much to do here. Everywhere around you, you have views of the beautiful mountains, and you have a good combination of nature and city. There are many other students in Cape Town, so before you know it, you have met many new people. I can recommend such an adventure to everyone!

My internship in Zanzibar through Let’s Go Africa was a special and educational experience. Living and working in a developing country took some getting used to at first and caused a real culture shock, but it taught me a lot. Especially that you shouldn't be afraid to approach people if you want to get something done.

The preparation by Let’s Go Africa was very well organized. I really appreciated the personal contact and the step-by-step guidance regarding matters such as visas and vaccinations. As a result, everything remained clear and I felt well prepared before I left.

My accommodation in Stone Town was nice and the host was very helpful. The camaraderie with other volunteers and the weekend safaris were also unforgettable highlights of my stay.

The project itself was interesting, although the tasks did not entirely match what was stated on the website beforehand and the on-site supervision was sometimes a bit unclear. It is a great experience for volunteer work, but the possibilities are somewhat more limited for an extensive research or graduation internship. All in all, I look back on a special time with many new experiences, wonderful encounters, and memories that I will not soon forget.
