PT GROUP OF COMPANIES
As one of the top food companies in South Africa and the world in fact, the team of staff has grown to way over 120 people very quickly and assistance is required to do a number of Human Resources tasks, updates and projects to help the development of the human capital of the company. It’s a very dynamic group. You need self-motivation. They will give you projects that you are interested in, but initiative is key. They are based in the city centre. This is a very dynamic group of companies.
2X HOSPITALS
We have been working with two of the big hospitals in the greater Cape Town area. These HR departments usually are big departments as the compliment of staff are huge too. People have done various challenging HR projects over the years. Projects will change as needs change.
Our clients have assisted with projects like staff training, updating of hospital staff records, interviews and updating of staff lists. In both cases, these are good names to have on your CV.
SA ANIMALS
For a number of years, this national organisation loved taking our students. Besides veterinarian students, which they love, we have also placed in Admin, Human resources, Marketing and Fund-raising over the years. From staff skills assessments on a national scale for over 100 staff, to various other tasks, our clients always added great value to them. The right intern will get responsibilities and work with a really lovely group of people. It is recommended to have a rented car as they are a little further from where a student might be staying – although not more than 10 – 15 min by car. This is a great organization to do HR work in.
HOTELS IN AND AROUND CAPE TOWN
For a number of years, we have had good relationships with a few well-known top hotels in and around Cape Town. Besides hotel management students, the most popular field has been Human Resources Management. Our students have done staff training, staff portfolio assessments, staff file updates and many other important jobs while working there. In all these placements, our clients are used effectively and they learn a great deal. As this is usually a fairly formal environment,interns for HR departments are usually hand-picked. Tasks change as needs change.
NGO’S
Human Resources is often a field sorely lacking in NGO’s and therefore our clients get great opportunities to help sort out this department. We work with a variety of such NGO’s – those working with animals, in youth development, youth at risk,community and or skills development, those working with the blind, physically disabled and more. If you have a heart to help organizations to grow, we have a variety to place you with. Tasks will be based on the needs at the time, but will include real HR related work and projects. In the past, students did huge projects e.g. formalizing pension schemes for people without a pension and the education thereof.
LARGE CORPORATE COMPANIES
Cape Town has many large corporates where we place clients in HR. With that said, these positions are usually for a student at a final year level or those with specific experience.Most of these companies are large national corporates and work will be at an appropriate level. Often they give the intern specific projects to work on as well.

Wat is Travel 4 Charity?
Travel 4 Charity is een uniek concept waarmee je altijd een lokale partnerorganisatie financieel ondersteunt. T4C kan via een volledig georganiseerde reiservaring of jouw reis helemaal op maat. Optioneel kan je de ontwikkelingswerk organisatie van dichtbij ervaren, bekijken waar je steun terecht komt en er zelfs samenwerken.
Hoeveel van mijn reis gaat naar het goede doel en naar wie?

Gaat er altijd geld naar het goede doel via Travel 4 Charity?
Absoluut! De steun voor Travel 4 Charity goede doelen is een zekerheid voor iedere reis ongeacht XMS deelname en betreft minimaal 10% van LGA servicepakket kosten.
Kan ik verschillende projecten combineren?
In overleg is er veel mogelijk, dus we horen graag je voorkeur!
Ik ben afgestudeerd/gepensioneerd of neem een sabbatical, kan ik een project via LGA doen?
Absoluut! Mensen met ervaring zijn vaak extra waardevol bij onze projecten.
Kunnen we ook in tweetallen of groepen gaan?
Zeker, dit is zelfs aan te raden.
Moet ik Nederlander zijn om deel te nemen?
Nee, iedereen die naar Afrika wil gaan is welkom om ons te benaderen.
Wat is de minimum leeftijd?
18 jaar. Maar we kunnen in sommige gevallen of onder begeleiding van een volwassene uitzonderingen bespreken.
Helpt LGA ook met vlucht/visum organiseren?
Jazeker, we helpen met goedkoopste opties en makkelijkste procedures.
Wat is het annuleringsbeleid?
- Registratiekosten en aanbetalingskosten zijn ten alle tijden niet-restitueerbaar.
- Vergoeding van 50% van de resterende LGA bemiddelingskosten en de volledige accommodatie/tour kosten minus €145 annuleringskosten, bij annulering uiterlijk 60 dagen voor vertrek voor LGA stagiaire/vrijwilliger/reiziger in kwestie, bij een van de volgende redenen voor annuleren:
- Ziekte of ongevallenletsel, van dien aard dat gezien de lichamelijke en/of psychische toestand van de betrokkene ‘op medische indicatie’ niet aan de reis kan worden deelgenomen.
- Ernstige ziekte, ernstig ongevallenletsel of overlijden van niet-meereizende familieleden in de eerste of tweede graad. Er moet sprake zijn van een zorgwekkende toestand, waarbij voor het leven van de betrokkene moet worden gevreesd.
- Annulering met ander dan bovengenoemde redenen of binnen 60 dagen voor vertrek (ondanks bovenstaande redenen), geeft geen enkel recht op vergoeding van bemiddelingspakketkosten en/of accommodatiekosten betaald aan LGA of onze partners.
