Grabouw Welfare (GW) works towards a caring and safe environment for children to be physically healthy, mentally alert, emotionally secure, and socially competent and be able to learn. We have workshops for mentally and physically disabled people. The main purpose of this program is to strengthen and build the capacity of the disabled so that they could become self-sustained and simultaneously addressing the individual, environmental and social factors which negatively impact on their social wellbeing. Even training to become entrepreneurs.
Grabouw Welfare is a non-profit organization whose main objective is to protect, promote the rights, interests, well-being, safety and development of children, families, young people, disabled people and the elderly of our community (100.000 inhabitants of which around 25.000 children). The challenges that we currently face threaten the safety of our society because of drug abuse, dysfunctional families, sexual exploitation, crime and high rate of school drop outs.
Goal: Aiming for skills transfer next to leaving behind materials and methods that can be used in terms of sustainability within the development and wellbeing of children.
